Establishing these community settings and getting them up and running means that patients who require non-urgent blood tests are currently facing waits but the new services means patients can expect a reduction in waiting times. In order to create additional capacity, North East London Foundation Trust increasing phlebotomy staffing levels through redeployment, recruitment, staff bank and agency. Staff are being seconded from Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Trust to provide additional capacity and a further eight administrators are now in place to improve the booking service.</p><p>In Redbridge, three additional blood testing clinics are already open and will now be extended until at least April 2021. The Trust estimates that the costs related to the flooding disruption were £1 million, with the majority claimed back via insurance. The new hospital at Whipps Cross will provide a range of patient services including emergency and maternity.</p><p>The Department and NHS England and NHS Improvement continue to work closely with the hospital trust on the development of the plans for the new hospital.
