	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/11/2018 answer text <p>All pregnant women in custody have an individual care and management plan that is communicated to all staff and all pregnant women are seen by a mid-wife at least fortnightly or as required. The terms of reference for the review were published on 18 December 2018. The review will consider how the Scheme can best reflect the changing nature of violent crime, effectively support victims in their recovery and opportunities for simplification. As part of this work, we will be considering the recommendations made by the Victims’ Commissioner in her report (Compensation without re-traumatisation) which was published on 23 January. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/07/2019 answer text <p>All Prison Officers complete the Prison Officer Entry Level Training which includes sessions on mental heallth, self-harm and suicide and personality disorder. There has very recently been the development of a new course specifically for the female estate called POWER – Positive Outcomes for Women: Empowerment &amp; Rehabilition. This is a two-day programme and is due to be rolled out shortly across the estate. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/10/2019 answer text <p>Employers are responsible for protecting their staff from sexual harassment by members of the public or other staff members. Sexual harassment, a form of unlawful discrimination, should not be tolerated under any circumstances so staff who believe they have been subjected to it should report the incident(s). Employers should ensure they fully support these staff and work with them to ensure appropriate legal action is taken against perpetrators.</p><p>The NHS Social Partnership Forum, chaired by Departmental ministers, is working with National Health Service system leaders, NHS organisations, staff and unions, to encourage the leadership and culture change required to eradicate bullying and all forms of harassment. Now in its third year, one of the “call to action” priorities is tackling sexual harassment.</p><p>The interim NHS People Plan, published on 3 June 2019, committed to developing a new offer for staff, part of which will be how to create a healthy, inclusive and compassionate culture, including a focus on tackling bullying and harassment. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/10/2019 answer text <p>The Government supports the right of staff working in the National Health Service, including junior doctors, to raise concerns and expects all National Health Service organisations to support staff that wish to do so. A National Guardian was appointed in 2016 and more than 1,000 Freedom to Speak Up local Guardians have now been appointed covering every NHS trust in England. 	question text	To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what progress has been made on improving the provision of women’s centres to reduce the number of short-term prison sentences given to women in the West Midlands.

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/07/2018 answer text <p>On 27 June we published our female offender strategy, which sets out the Government’s commitment to a new programme of work for female offenders. We want to see fewer women in custody, especially on short-term sentences, and a greater proportion of women managed in the community successfully.</p><p> </p><p>We recognise that short custodial sentences do not deliver the best results for all offenders, particularly female offenders, and that there is persuasive evidence that short custodial sentences of less than 12 months are less effective in reducing reoffending than community penalties.</p><p> </p><p>That is why, as part of the strategy, we have committed to working with local and national partners to develop a pilot for ‘residential women’s centres’ in at least five sites across England and Wales. The aim of the pilot will be to develop a robust evidence base about what could be effective, sustainable and scalable models for improving outcomes for female offenders and reducing the numbers and frequency of women entering and re-entering custody on short custodial sentences. We will take a consultative approach to identifying the most suitable sites, and designing and delivering the pilot models.</p><p> </p><p>We are also investing £5m over two years in community provision for women. As part of this, we have launched an initial £3.5m grant competition for 2018/19 and 2019/20 for community services and multi-agency, whole system approaches across England and Wales. The grant competition for 2018/19 will close on 29 August this year.
