star this property answer text <p>The Civil Aviation Authority has statutory responsibility for the safety regulation of UK airlines. It carries out regular audits and inspection of all UK operators and approved maintenance organisations to ensure they comply with all safety requirements.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Civil Aviation Authority has worked with British Airways to ensure that the airline has addressed the issues identified by the investigation in to the recent incident at Heathrow Airport. In addition, seminars are being carried out across industry to highlight the lessons learnt from the event.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government has set up the Airports Commission to examine the question of how best to maintain the UK’s international hub connectivity.</p><p> </p><p>As its Interim Report shows, the Airports Commission has shortlisted two options at Heathrow Airport as well as an option at Gatwick for further study.</p><p> </p><p>The Commission’s final report is due to be submitted to Government in summer 2015. The Government’s principle concern is to protect the integrity and independence of the Commission through to the final report and will not be commenting on its ongoing work.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this
