star this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to restoring the UK’s position as a partner of choice in Horizon Europe. The Government is undertaking a series of actions to ensure that UK businesses and researchers feel supported to engage with Horizon Europe and lead consortia. This includes a series of roadshow events around the country, pump-priming schemes and a largescale marketing campaign.</p><p> </p><p>The Government launched the International Science Partnership Fund in December 2022. ISPF will have up to £337 million this spending review period, allowing UK researchers and innovators to collaborate with international partners on multidisciplinary projects. The Government also continues to fund the global Science and Innovation Network of over 130 officers in 65 locations around the world to actively build and facilitate science, technology and innovation collaborations of value to the UK.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>International collaboration has been a vital part of the response to Covid-19 and the UK has played a leading role globally. BEIS, alongside other Government Departments, funded the creation of the Covid Circle platform that enables researchers to access and understand international funding opportunities specifically related to Covid-19.</p><p> </p><p>More broadly the Integrated Review, R&amp;D Roadmap, and Innovation Strategy all highlight how international collaboration can support a dynamic and innovative UK and support strategic priorities.</p><p> </p><p>This is why we are working with colleagues across HMG to develop an International Science &amp; Technology Partnerships Framework to share cross-government interests in international R&amp;D and the landscape of global opportunities and challenges.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government remains committed to international development and will continue to provide £10 billion of Official Development Assistance (ODA) in 2021-22 to fight poverty, tackle climate change and improve global health.</p><p> </p><p>The Government’s commitment to research and innovation is clearly demonstrated through the recently published R&amp;D Roadmap, and the £400m uplift in R&amp;D spending announced in the Spending Review International collaboration is central feature of a healthy and productive R&amp;D sector.</p><p> </p><p>We recently reaffirmed our commitment to doubling UK’s International Climate Finance to £11.6bn in the years 2021-2025. star this property answer text <p>The UK’s aim is to be the partner of choice on international research and innovation. The International Research and Innovation Strategy sets out how we will achieve this by deepening international engagement, partnerships and practical collaboration.</p><p>There are strong links between the UK and EU’s research and innovation communities, with a long track record of jointly tackling global challenges. We are working to ensure that collaboration can continue in any scenario, including the funding commitment made under the Horizon 2020 guarantee and extension.</p><p>We are exploring association to the Horizon Europe programme, as well as considering alternative options as part of a review of the future UK funding landscape. International funding will be an important component in implementing the UK International Research and Innovation Strategy.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>International collaboration is at the heart of this Government’s ambition to ensure UK remains one of the best places in the world for research and innovation. As outlined in the Industrial Strategy, we will publish an International Research and Innovation Strategy.</p><p> </p><p>In many areas, we are already delivering. Last September we became the first nation to sign a formal Science and Innovation agreement with the United States. We signed a similar agreement with Canada. In December 2017, UK became the first nation to develop a joint Science and Innovation Strategy with China. More will come throughout this year. These agreements will provide new opportunities for our researchers, innovators, institutions and business to strengthen and extend their activities with international partners.</p> more like this
