star this property answer text <p>Rape support centres receive funding from multiple sources, including government funding and charitable trusts.</p><p>The Ministry of Justice allocated the following funding to support rape support services across England and Wales:</p><table><tbody><tr><td><p>2010-11</p></td><td><p>*Not possible to disaggregate</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2011-12</p></td><td><p>£3.4m</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2012-13</p></td><td><p>£3.9m</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2013-14</p></td><td><p>£3.9m</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2014-15</p></td><td><p>£4.4m</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2015-16</p></td><td><p>£4.7m</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2016/17</p></td><td><p>£7.2m</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2017/18</p></td><td><p>£7.2m</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2018/19</p></td><td><p>£7.2m</p></td></tr></tbody></table><p>* The Ministry of Justice provided total funding of £2.1m in 2010-11 for sexual violence and domestic violence support services.</p><p><br>In March this year we increased the central funding available to these services by 10% - up to £8m per year and made a commitment of £24m over three years.</p><p>The Ministry of Justice also allocates around £68 million a year to Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) to locally commission or provide support services for victims of crime, including victims of sexual violence. £4.7m of this is ringfenced for spend on victims of child sexual abuse. In 2017/18, PCCs reported spending £15.9m on supporting victims of sexual violence. £8.4m of this was from the MoJ grant and £7.5m from other funding sources.</p>

Staff can still make arrangements to contribute to a credit union via direct debit.</p><p> </p><p>Although the Ministry does not currently offer such facility, we continue to explore options to support staff with financial wellbeing.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The information is not centrally held and could only be obtained only at disproportionate cost. However, all pregnant women in custody have an individual care and management plan that is communicated to all staff and all pregnant women are seen by a mid-wife at least fortnightly or as required.</p><p> </p><p>Healthcare in prisons is provided by trained medics and nurses, but we have also made training on dealing with pregnant women available to all prison officers.</p><p> </p><p>We know it is extremely rare for a woman to give birth in prison - because every step is taken to get them to hospital - but those unique cases are invariably down to the unpredictability of labour.</p><p> </p><p>Our Female Offender Strategy made clear that we want fewer women serving short sentences in custody and more remaining in the community, making use of women’s centres to address needs such as substance misuse and mental health problems.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Justice has published information on the number of women sentenced to immediate custody for theft from shops offences, and the length of these sentences in the Outcomes by Offence data tool available here: <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/802314/outcomes-by-offence-tool-2018.xlsx" target="_blank">https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/802314/outcomes-by-offence-tool-2018.xlsx</a></p><p> </p><p>Select ’46 Theft from Shops’ in the Offence filter</p><p>Select ’02: Female’ in the Sex filter</p><p> </p><p>The total women sentenced to immediate custody can be found in row 36 and custodial sentence lengths can be found in row 56 onwards.</p><p> </p><p>The Ministry of Justice does not have a specific classification for (i) non-violent and non-sexual offences and (ii) violent and sexual offences, as offences are classified by indictable or summary offence groupings and prosecutions are counted for principal offences. Broad indictable groups for ’01: Violence against the person’ and ’02: Sexual offences’ can be displayed using the Offence group filter in the above data tool for violent and sexual offences; all other offence groups would broadly cover non-violent and non-sexual offences. However, note that some offences that would be classified as violence (such as common assault and battery) are counted in the summary offences category.</p><p> </p><p>Please note that the figures given in the pivot table relate to defendants for whom these offences were the principal offences for which they were dealt with.</p>
