star this property answer text <p>London bus services are the responsibility of Transport for London and the London Mayor who is responsible for all aspects of services including bus safety.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Bus services outside London are deregulated and provided on a commercial basis by private operators. It is for individual local transport authorities in those areas to determine what powers in the Bus Services Act 2017 are used to address bus safety issues. For example, under a franchising scheme, bus operators could be required, by the franchising authority, to provide bus safety data at specified intervals.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The decision whether to uprate the total HS2 budget from the current 2015 price base will be taken alongside the Spending Review.</p><p>The Spending Review will also consider the latest benefits associated with High Speed 2. This will include Wider Economic Impacts in line with the department’s Transport Appraisal Guidance.</p><p>The department is working with local authorities across the UK to develop growth strategies to ensure the benefits of HS2 are fully realised in local areas.</p> more like this

The HS2 Phase 2a Outline Business Case was published alongside the deposit of the Phase 2a hybrid Bill in July 2017. In particular, we would encourage local authorities to consider the benefits of an independent confidential reporting system (ICRS), and release of bus safety incident data, when they are forming a partnership or franchising scheme. star this property answer text <p>The Department and HS2 Ltd take very seriously any concerns raised by residents affected by the construction of HS2 and would respond to any formal representations on this issue in an appropriate way. HS2 Ltd are engaging with local residents on issues around construction and will continue to do so.</p><p> </p><p>Safeguards for residents were set out as part of the Parliamentary process for the High Speed Rail (London to West Midlands) Act 2017. The Information Paper on Ground Settlement (Information Paper C3) sets out the approach to assessing and reducing, as far as reasonably practicable, any ground settlement that could result from underground works.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Yes. HS2 Ltd has identified that part of the Alexandra and Ainsworth Estate is built on piled foundations. As the planned tunnel is approximately 40m deep at this location, there is no risk of the piles intersecting the tunnel. The significant depth also means the ground movement and differential settlement at the surface is likely to be small. A Phase 1 green field ground movement assessment and a Phase 2 ground movement has been undertaken along the route. As these buildings are listed, there will also be a phase 3 assessment, which will take account of the unique features of the building and its foundations.</p><p> </p><p>HS2 Ltd has received no representations on these issues.</p> more like this
