A publication, aimed at NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups and local authorities, will describe who is at risk of social isolation, at what stage of life, what impact this has on health inequalities and what works to reduce social isolation in the groups identified.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Department considered a number of data sources that could provide data for a population-based measure of loneliness. The Department has not found a measure that would provide local authorities with sufficient information for action. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/05/2014 answer text <p>The Department is working with a number of organisations including the Campaign to End Loneliness and the Royal Voluntary Service to promote ways to tackle loneliness and the Silverline who provide a helpline offering support to older people.</p><p>A measure of social isolation will be published this year as part of the Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework to raise visibility and to support local authorities to address the issue of social isolation in their local communities. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/10/2014 answer text <p>The Department is raising awareness regarding the issue of loneliness and social isolation and helping local health and wellbeing boards and commissioners to get better at measuring the issue in their local communities. This will help them come up with the right targeted solutions, and drive local improvements that really make a difference.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>A measure of social isolation has now been included in the Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework 2013-14 for the first time, marking an important step towards improving the lives of social care users and carers that are experiencing isolation.
