	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/06/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>Table 1 shows the amount of core Government revenue funding <br>provided by the Home Office to the North Yorkshire Police Authority (from <br>November 2012 the Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire) since <br>1995-96.<br><br>The figures in the table represent the amount of revenue funding provided by <br>the Home Office to North Yorkshire. However, due to changes in police revenue <br>funding over this time period (which include a move away from Regional Crime <br>Squads and a change in the way pensions are funded), it is difficult to <br>compare spending power between years.<br><br>From 2014/15, the Home Office is also paying out Council Tax Freeze Grant <br>funding relating to the 2011/12 and 2013/14 schemes and Local Council Tax <br>Support funding to Police and Crime Commissioners in England. This amount was <br>previously paid by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). <br>This will total £7.9 million for North Yorkshire in 2014/15 and is excluded <br>from the table to assist comparison with previous years.<br><br>In addition, the police in England also receive central government grant from <br>other sources including the DCLG. Data on human trafficking for sexual exploitation is available for that period, and there were no cases of this crime type recorded by North Yorkshire police in the years requested.</p><p>A separate ‘modern slavery’ crime classification was introduced in April 2015 covering all forms of human trafficking, slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour. Figures for April to June 2015 are available in the statistical bulletin “Crime in England and Wales, year ending June 2015”, published by the Office for National Statistics on 15 October 2015.</p><p>The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) flags cases related to human trafficking and forced labour in its Case Management System, regardless of whether the eventual prosecution is for human trafficking, slavery, servitude and forced and compulsory labour, or for another offence. However, as the <br>vast majority of forces, including Greater Manchester Police are <br>demonstrating, it is manageable. The latest report from Her Majesty's <br>Inspectorate of Constabulary (Policing in Austerity: Rising to the Challenge <br>July 2013) found that crime is falling and the proportion of officers on the <br>front line is increasing. The Government has protected the police from the <br>additional 2014/15 reductions that were announced in the Chancellor's December <br>Autumn Statement, which means the police will face a 3.3% cash reduction in <br>central Government funding (5.75% in real terms) compared to 2013/14.
