<p>The banking provisions in the Immigration Act 2016 took effect during the first quarter of 2018, but are not yet operating in full due to temporary restrictions introduced to ensure that members of the Windrush generation are not adeversley impacted. To date the Home Office has recieved confirmation from the banking sector that 15 accounts have been closed as a result of the Immigration Act 2016 provisions.</p>
