	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/01/2019 answer text <p>The UK understands that approximately $172 million was spent on payments to the ‘Martyrs Fund’ in 2016. The fund makes payments to Palestinian families who have a family member that has died or been wounded ‘whilst resisting the occupation’. We do not hesitate to raise instances of incitement with the Palestinian Authority and we use our strong partnership to lobby them to make sure payments from the Martyrs Fund cover only family members’ needs. We also want the system to be more transparent. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/02/2016 answer text <p>I have been asked to reply.</p><p>The Department for International Development (DfID) provided £349 million in support of Palestinian development from 2011-15 and will provide a further £72 million in 2015-16, of which up to £25.5 million will be provided to the Palestinian Authority. This year, UK aid will support 36,000 children in primary education and support 270 enterprises to improve their annual sales or productivity.</p><p>UK aid is helping the Palestinian Authority to develop strong institutions, deliver essential public services and improve security – building the foundations for a sovereign and viable Palestinian state living alongside Israel in peace and security.
