There is evidence that exposure to an infection can act as a trigger for some children to present acutely with a range of neurodevelopmental and mental health symptoms such as tics, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and eating problems etc.</p><p> </p><p>However, there is inconclusive research evidence to demonstrate that PANDAS is a discrete disease entity.
