The number of outstanding cases recorded as associated with each Scottish local authority area can be found in Table 2. The figures that have been provided below relate to main applicants who have made an immigration application or an asylum claim between 1 May 2010 - 31 December 2013, and whose claim was recorded as unresolved on 31 December 2013. For data protection purposes, cohorts of fewer than 10 people have been indicated with a *.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The data has been compiled by identifying the latest valid postcode on the Case Information Database (CID). For Scottish postcodes, this was then matched to the ONS Postcode database to associate it with a parliamentary constituency and local authority as far as possible. This postcode is the most recently recorded postcode for correspondence purposes and may not be represent the applicant’s of place of residence or be the same postcode provided at the time of 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/01/2016 answer text <p>The Government definition of extremism is 'vocal or active opposition to our fundamental values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and the mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs.' We have been consistent on this since 2011 and have reaffirmed this definition in the Counter-Extremism Strategy.</p><p>The overwhelming majority of people in this country support these values and condemn those who try to undermine them.</p><p>The Government would not consider the ‘claim’ that an individual’s religion is ‘the only one true faith’ to be extremist.</p><p>We are clear that Government should not restrict anyone’s freedom of speech or right to practise a faith. These are core values that help to make our country great. However we shouldn’t allow the extremist voice to go unchallenged, causing harm to our society and promoting hatred and division.</p><p>The Government has engaged on the strategy, and will continue to engage with partners - including faith groups, communities and civic society groups on the new proposed powers to tackle the most dangerous extremists. These are sufficient to prevent pubs operating without relevant permissions. These include powers which licensing authorities have to impose conditions on a premises licence or revoke a premises licence where appropriate. They are responsible for making decisions based on what is appropriate for the promotion of the licensing objectives. These are the prevention of crime and disorder; public safety; the prevention of public nuisance; and the protection of children from harm.</p><p>Licensable activities include not only the sale of alcohol but also regulated entertainment such as a performance of live music and any playing of recorded music among other entertainments. 	question text	To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment she has made of the concerns over the lack of powers of the National Crime Agency (NCA) in Northern Ireland in paragraph 25 of the report on the UK by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child; and if she will take steps to support making the NCA fully operational in Northern Ireland.

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/11/2014 answer text <p>The National Crime Agency (NCA) operates UK-wide but as a result of not securing legislative consent the activities of the NCA in Northern Ireland are restricted. Under current arrangements the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) is able to access information and advice from the NCA including from its Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Command. What is missing, however, is access to operational support.</p><p>This government is disappointed by the decision of the Northern Ireland Executive not to agree to give NCA officers police powers. However, policing is devolved in Northern Ireland, and this is something we must respect. The NCA's People Strategy delivers a flexible response in which the workforce is placed in areas of operational demand. There is nothing to preclude the employment of people living in Northern Ireland. For example, <br>NCA officers based in Northern Ireland work on Civil Recovery and Tax casesrelating to England and Wales in the absence of consent for the NCA to take on full functions in Northern Ireland. All NCA vacancies across the United Kingdom are advertised in the spirit of open and fair competition.
