The review will consider, so far as is possible, the impact the fees have had on those with protected characteristics and the types of case they bring. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/03/2015 answer text <p /> <p>The Ministry of Justice is mandated to encourage Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) engagement and the policy is set out by the Cabinet Office; this is a government wide agenda. SME participation is encouraged by removing barriers and making the procurement process faster and less complex. Most recently the government issued policy supporting a number of new reforms to make public procurement even more accessible to businesses, particularly SMEs. These new reforms take account of the wide consultation and engagement that the Government has undertaken with public bodies, small businesses and trade bodies over the last two years and in response to Lord Young’s recommendations to Government in his report ‘Growing Your Business’ (May 2013). These reforms are implemented in Part 4 of the new Public Contracts Regulations 2015, and have been embedded into MoJ procurement processes.</p><p>Secondly the Social Values Act must be taken into consideration. While the Senior Presiding Judge will not appoint an un-discharged bankrupt, individuals who have been discharged from bankruptcy are not automatically disqualified for appointment. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/02/2016 answer text <p>The LAA does not routinely collect information on whether applicants for legal aid are victims of people charged with domestic violence.</p><p> </p><p>Prior to 2013, when people applied for legal aid they were not asked to declare whether domestic violence had occurred. Since 2013, applications for legal aid do not routinely request this information. Therefore the data requested is not available.</p><p> </p><p>People seeking protective injunctions, like non-molestation orders, remain eligible for legal aid. Legal aid also remains available in private family cases that involve domestic violence. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/03/2015 answer text <p /> <p>HM Courts &amp; Tribunals Service’s IT systems are not able to determine and collate with accuracy the number of residential leasehold forfeiture cases presented in the last five years and the number of residential leases that were forfeited. The Ministry of Justice does, however, publish statistics on the number of landlord possession actions in the County Court across England and Wales. These statistics are available at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/mortgage-and-landlord-possession-statistics" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/mortgage-and-landlord-possession-statistics</a>.</p><p> </p><p>A manual search of these landlord possession cases would be required in order to identify the specific number of residential leasehold forfeiture claims presented and the number of leases forfeited. The retention period for landlord possession case files is three years.
