Such strength is demonstrated in Wales’s ability to attract globally recognised brands such as Aston Martin and Qatar Airways.</p><p> </p><p>As we leave the EU we are seeking to take advantage of all opportunities available to us. From this Autumn, passengers travelling on the Great Western Main Line to and from Swansea will benefit from new, innovative bi-mode Intercity Express trains, experience faster journeys, with each train having an additional capacity of 130 seats. We start from a unique position with regulatory frameworks and standards that match. We want to have the greatest possible tariff- and barrier-free trade with our European neighbours, as well as to negotiate our own trade agreements around the world. We want to ensure that UK companies have the maximum freedom to trade with and operate within European markets – and to let European businesses do the same in the UK.</p><p>Last month we published <em>Future customs arrangements: a future partnership paper</em>, which sets out very clearly the Government’s objectives for a new customs arrangement with the EU, and our proposals to achieve them. In the last two weeks this has included a COBR meeting, the Winter Summit and a virtual meeting with the First Minister.</p><p> </p><p>We will continue to work closely with all the devolved administrations to ensure the most effective measures are in place in all parts of the UK. Where there are differences in the approach between Wales and England, it is vital that the rationale is founded on robust evidence and is clearly explained to people on both sides of the border.</p><p> </p><p>This is particularly important in the context of restrictions being imposed by the Welsh Government on travel into Wales by people living in areas of England with a high prevalence of Covid transmission. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/10/2020 answer text <p>This Government has issued £1.116 billion through the Bounce Back Loan Scheme, £303 million through the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme and £490 million through the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme to support businesses in Wales. In August in Newport West, 11,500 employments were furloughed with a take up rate of 27 per cent.</p><p> </p><p>I have been having discussions across and at all levels of Government to support businesses in Wales and mitigate the impact of the covid-19 pandemic.
