	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/02/2019 answer text <p>HMRC is promoting Help to Save to potential customers through established channels including the Tax Credit digital service, HMRC helplines, Jobcentres, and HMRC App. Initial research suggested that this is the most appropriate way of reaching the eligible population.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC has publicised the scheme through social media and had positive coverage in national, regional and consumer media. HMRC is also engaged with local authorities and housing associations nationwide, along with a wider national stakeholder network including Citizens Advice and the Money Advice Service.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC is currently sending out text messages with details of the scheme to potentially eligible customers who have yet to open an account. Plans are also in place to send letters to individuals who may be eligible for the scheme.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC has also developed new relationships with organisations offering salary deduction services to major UK employers, allowing employees to sign up to the scheme while making savings easier through automatic deductions.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC will continue to review how best to maximise take-up, and is increasing its understanding of customer interest and behaviour throughout these early stages of the scheme.</p> answering member constituency Salisbury answering member printed John Glen question first answered 18/02/2019 16:42:55 answering member 4051 label Biography information for John Glen

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/11/2018 answer text <p>The Government launched the Help to Save scheme in September, following a successful trial. Help to Save forms part of the Government’s commitment to supporting people at all income levels and all stages of life to save.</p><p> </p><p>Working families in receipt of working tax credits or Universal Credit will find a link to the Help to Save application site at existing touchpoints they have with Government including the online Tax Credits Service, Universal Credit pages on GOV.UK and through a dedicated section on the site for Northern Ireland residents, NI Direct. In addition, Universal Credit work coaches UK-wide are signposting Help to Save to those who could benefit. Individuals can also go directly to the Help to Save site to apply, or if they don’t have access to the internet they can set up an account by phoning 0300 322 7093.</p><p> </p><p>For the launch the Government used a range of coordinated communications across a variety of channels to target potential savers.
