Last year saw an increase of foreign direct investment into Northern Ireland, with 35 new projects creating over 200 new jobs across Northern Ireland.</p><p> </p><p>Northern Ireland continues to be a great place to invest and do business. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/07/2019 answer text <p>Pursuant to my response of 27 June, the appointment of the Northern Ireland Office’s Director General was a routine civil service appointment approved by the Civil Service Senior Leadership Committee and Cabinet Secretary. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/07/2019 answer text <p>We have discussed the procurement of steel with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, which has asked all Government departments to consider guidance on steel procurement and to notify of any upcoming opportunities for industry.</p><p> </p><p>More broadly, the Government is committed to supporting the steel sector to realise the broader commercial opportunities that are open to it, which could be worth an additional £3.8 billion a year by 2030. We are establishing the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund – backed by up to £315m of investment – to help businesses with high energy use (including steel companies) to cut their bills and transition UK industry to a low carbon future. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2019 answer text <p>The Northern Ireland Office takes its responsibilities under Fair Employment legislation very seriously and seeks to ensure a good and harmonious working environment for all staff; the requirements of which are set out in the 1989 Fair Employment Code of Practice.</p><p> </p><p>In line with the Equality Commission of Northern Ireland’s Guide, Promoting a Good and Harmonious Working Environment, the Northern Ireland Office is sensitive to the display of “posters, pictures, portraits or other displays that are more closely associated with one or other of the communities” and will consider any concerns raised by employees. I can confirm that the department takes steps to ensure no such images are displayed in Stormont House</p><p> </p><p>Information on employees’ personal data is sensitive, in order to comply with DPA requirements, and so I am unable to comment further.
