	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/07/2019 answer text <p>We are committed to increasing the supply of social housing and have invested over £9 billion into our Affordable Homes Programme to deliver 250,000 affordable homes by 2022, including at least 12,500 for social rent. In September we announced an additional £2 billion of long-term funding certainty for housing associations. This extra funding will deliver more affordable homes and stimulate the sector’s wider building ambitions, through strategic partnerships. £1 billion of this funding is open for bidding with existing Homes England Strategic Partnerships.</p><p>We have increased the size of the Affordable Homes Programme, re-introduced social rent, removed the Housing Revenue Account borrowing cap for local authorities, and have set out a long-term rent deal for councils and housing associations in England from 2020. Offering older people a better choice of accommodation can help enable them to live independently for longer and help reduce costs to the social care and health systems. The proposals set out in the White Paper, “Fixing our broken housing market”, underline our commitment to do more to provide the homes we need for all in our society</p><p><br> In the White Paper we acknowledged that older and disabled peoples’ housing needs was an issue that needed to be addressed. We have strengthened the revised National Planning Policy Framework, published in July 2018, and on 26 June 2019 we published new guidance to help councils to put these policies in place. This makes it clear that authorities should set clear policies to address the housing needs of groups with particular needs such as older and disabled people. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2019 answer text <p>The Department does not hold this data but the Government takes the view that all forms of hate crime are completely unacceptable. In October 2018 the Government refreshed the Hate Crime Action Plan, and committed additional funding to continue to protect places of worship - since 2016 Government’s Places of Worship scheme has approved 17 grants to Gurdwaras. Additionally, we have committed just over £1.5 million for projects to tackle all forms of racially and religiously motivated hatred. The Government has an extensive engagement programme with all faith communities, including the Sikh community through the MHCLG-led Sikh roundtable. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/07/2019 answer text <p>The National Audit Office (NAO) is independent of government and directly accountable to Parliament, therefore, it would not be appropriate for a government department to review their effectiveness.</p><p>Through the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (the 2014 Act), both the NAO and Public Sector Audit Appointments Ltd (PSAA) have roles relating to the audit arrangements for local public bodies in England.</p><p>The Redmond Review, which is due to report in Spring 2020, will consider important aspects of the local audit and accountability framework and how the various elements of the framework interrelate, including PSAA’s role as the specified audit procurement body and the NAO’s role in relation to the Code and guidance for local auditors. But the NAO’s general role and wider powers, including its value for money studies, are outside the scope of the Redmond Review.</p><p>Audit is only part of the wider assurance and accountability system that protects the interests of tax payers.
