star this property answer text <p>The Government takes hate crime and discrimination of any kind very seriously. We are a tolerant and welcoming multicultural society. There is no excuse for targeting British Asian communities or anyone of any other background in this country. We have one of the strongest legal frameworks in the world to report, record and prosecute hate crime. I would encourage anyone who experiences hate crime to report it to the police.</p><p>The Government’s Hate Crime Action Plan, published in October 2018, sets out a comprehensive programme of work across Government and the police. We fund hate crime reporting platforms, including True Vision, and we continue to engage with communities of all backgrounds and local leaders, including councils and the police, to make sure we are aware of any concerns communities may have and can provide targeted support.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>It is the Government’s priority to ensure that residents are safe. We are clear that unsafe ACM cladding must be replaced swiftly. Where insufficient progress is being made, building owners can expect further action to be taken – including enforcement. In the Queen’s Speech, the Government announced legislation which will put beyond doubt that the Fire Safety Order applies to external walls (including cladding) and individual flat entrance doors in multi-occupied residential buildings. This will affirm Fire and Rescue Services’ enforcement role for these buildings.</p><p>Where the government has funded the removal and replacement of unsafe ACM cladding, a condition of funding is that applicants are expected to take all reasonable steps to recover the cost of replacing unsafe ACM cladding from those responsible. This will be repaid to Government once recouped.</p> more like this

The Secretary of State hosted a roundtable with leaseholder residents of high rise residential buildings affected by building safety issues on 4 March. This provided an opportunity to hear directly from leaseholders about the issues they are facing and their concerns.</p><p>We are investing £1.6 billion to support the remediation of unsafe Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) and unsafe non-ACM cladding systems on private and social residential buildings above 18 metres.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>On 16 November we changed the law in England to ensure bailiffs do not enforce evictions over this period of national restrictions or the Christmas period. This means that no eviction notices may be served until 11 January and, given the 14 day notice period required, no evictions are expected until 25 January at the earliest. star this property answer text <p>The draft National Planning Policy Framework set out that local authorities should, as a minimum, provide for objectively assessed needs for housing and other development in plans. These plans would be tested by an independent Planning Inspector at the plan examination.</p><p>The council will also need to ensure there is sufficient infrastructure available to accommodate proposals bought forward in their plan, this will also be tested at examination to determine whether the plan is effective and can be delivered.</p><p>The consultation on the draft revised National Planning Policy Framework closed on the 10 May and we are considering the comments received. We aim to publish the new version of the National Planning Policy Framework in the Summer.</p> more like this

The consultation is open until 7 February and we welcome further evidence.</p><ul><li>Our consultation includes estimates as described above, and also includes a ‘roadmap’ that provides an indicative vision of how the 2025 standards will be achieved. We will undertake further modelling and analysis as we prepare the detail of the changes that will be needed in 2025.</li><li>We are consulting on proposed minimum standards for carbon dioxide emissions, primary energy use, and building fabric. We will issue a response to the consultation later this year after analysing responses received.</li><li>Requiring householders to disclose the energy use of their homes once occupied sits outside the scope of the Building Regulations and its enforcement regime. We have not proposed a post-occupancy monitoring system as part of the Future Homes Standard consultation.</li><li>To consider embodied carbon at a building-level would require a standardised method of calculation supported by a robust evidence base and underpinned by widely adopted product standards. There is currently no widely agreed standardised method for certifying the embodied carbon of building products, so it was not included the Future Homes Standard consultation.</li><li>The Future Homes Standard consultation is considering local planning authority powers in respect of energy efficiency. We will issue a response to the consultation later this year after analysing responses received.</li></ul>
