star this property answer text <p>We continue to liaise closely with Ukraine to understand their priorities and to shape what support the UK and international community offer as these requirements evolve.</p><p>To date, we have committed £2.3 billion of military support and the Government has committed to match this in the next financial year. Our most recent funding package, announced in June, is being used to deliver key military equipment, including more armoured fighting vehicles, air defence missiles, artillery ammunition, more integrated air defence systems, uncrewed systems and innovative new electronic warfare equipment. On 13 October 2022, the Defence Secretary announced that the UK will also donate cutting edge air defence missiles to Ukraine to help defend against Russian missile strikes.</p><p>We have also trained over 6,000 Ukrainian personnel to help Ukraine defend its sovereign territory.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK has consistently provided international leadership on support to Ukraine. The UK was the first country to provide lethal aid, takes a leading role in the International Donor Coordination Centre and is leading international efforts to provide training at scale for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In July, the Secretary of State announced the UK-led International Fund for Ukraine which aims to raise over £1 billion with international partners to fund the provision of military capabilities for Ukraine.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Since February 2022, a total of 2,243 UK Service personnel have served in roles providing dedicated support to Defence's activities in relation to Ukraine. This includes both personnel deployed overseas as well as UK based personnel involved in the identification of Ukraine's defence requirements and training of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as announced in the Defence Written Ministerial Statement on Continued Support to Ukraine on the 5 July 2022.</p><p>The figure provided does not include personnel across Defence who have contributed within their existing roles.</p> more like this

The Government has committed to maintain or exceed that level of support this year. The Department is currently focussed on the delivery of significant commitments of support made by the international community at Ramstein in January and February. In addition, we have provided millions of rounds of ammunition, hundreds of armoured and protected mobility vehicles and other equipment.</p><p>Across hundreds of flights delivering this support in the last year, the entire Air Mobility Force has been engaged in the movement of equipment, supplies and trained Ukrainian recruits.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK and Canada, as well as other partner nations, are working closely together, providing advice on strategic defence reform in Ukraine through our respective representatives on the Defence Reform Advisory Board. The UK and Canadian representatives have developed a particularly effective working relationship and are currently pursuing initiatives that could lead to even closer co-operation and co-ordination.</p><p>Alongside this, the UK and Canada have both had military training missions supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces in-country since 2015 and, as the Prime Minister announced in Ottawa, we have agreed with the Canadians to conduct joint training of the UAF from the beginning of 2018, focusing on capabilities including joint reconnaissance, counter-sniper and military policing. This will be complementary to the wider range of defensive, non-escalatory military training delivered by the UK through Operational ORBITAL.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>In 2016 surplus equipment was supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in addition to other, purchased items.</p><p>More recently, when President Poroshenko visited the UK in April 2017, he presented the Prime Minister with a list of Ukrainian equipment requirements, seeking UK assistance where possible. In light of this request, the head of the Defence Equipment Sales Authority, visited Ukraine to clarify Ukrainian requirements and establish the most appropriate UK surplus assets.</p><p>A Ukrainian delegation visited the UK from 28 November to 1 December and reviewed a range of land and maritime equipment. The Ukrainians are now considering their options.</p> more like this
