star this property answer text <br /><p>Following the arrival of 115 migrants at RAF Akrotiri on 21 October 2015, as at 12 November 2015, 60 migrants have claimed asylum. Six asylum seekers have been transferred so far into the Republic of Cyprus. The other asylum seekers are completing pre-requisite security and medical screening and we expect that they will transfer to the Republic of Cyprus asylum system shortly.</p><br /> more like this

star this property answer text <br /><p>In February 2015 the Government signed a £859 million Demonstration Phase contract for the Type 26 (T26) Global Combat Ship. Around 1,700 jobs in the UK will be sustained as a result with 600 of those jobs safeguarded in Scotland where T26 will be built.</p><br /><p>The majority of sub-contractors to the T26 Global Combat Ship programme are selected by BAES through competition.</p><br /><p>The use of competition remains the cornerstone of defence procurement and this approach has been successful in driving efficiency into the UK defence industry. UK suppliers have had an equal opportunity to bid for work on the T26 programme with selections based on cost and the ability of suppliers to meet the schedule and performance requirements.</p><br /><p>To date BAES has placed eight design development agreements (DDAs) and six design and manufacture contracts with UK based companies. star this property answer text <br /><p>Since 2010 the numbers of trained regular officers and soldiers transferring to the Adjutant General's Corps Staff and Personnel Support Branch, AGC(SPS), each calendar year are as follows:</p><p>2010 - 130</p><p>2011 - 160</p><p>2012 - 50</p><p>2013 - 40</p><p>2014 - 60</p><p>2015 to 31 October - 150</p><p>Where there is a shortage of key personnel, the Army offers a transfer bonus which is payable to soldiers upon successful completion of the transfer into the specified trade.</p><p>From 2010 to 2013, transfer bonus payments of £1,500 each were made to 73 soldiers who transferred into the AGC(SPS) as Military Clerks or Combat Human Resource Specialists. No payments were made from 2014 onwards.
