The first 630 places were taken up in September 2018 and the remaining additional places will have been made available by universities by 2020/21. By 2020, five new medical schools will have opened in England to help deliver the expansion.</p><p>The number of medical specialty training places that are available each year is set by Health Education England and based on their assessment of service gaps and predicted workforce needs.</p><p>However, it is the responsibility of National Health Service trusts to have staffing arrangements in place that deliver safe and effective care. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2019 answer text <p>To ensure sufficient space to store stockpiled medicines, we agreed contracts for additional warehouse space, including ambient, refrigerated and controlled drug storage aligned to the possible 29 March exit date. All these types of storage remain available and should be sufficient to meet the additional needs of medicines suppliers to enable them to build or rebuild their stockpiles prior to 31 October. The original procurement was carried out to give additional leeway should the level of storage required be greater than initially estimated. As part our contingency planning for a possible ‘no deal’ European Union exit on 31 October, we have re-assessed the additional warehouse capacity required to meet the six-week stockpile request made of industry and have confidence that the current capacity we have in place for 31 October will be sufficient.</p><p>The Government’s Border Delivery Group has been reviewing the readiness of border infrastructures and of traders to comply with customs and borders processes in the United Kingdom and the EU. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/07/2019 answer text <p>In the development of each national tariff, NHS England and NHS Improvement undertakes an overall assessment of the impact of proposals. While this provides an overall assessment of impact, detailed feedback on proposed prices for individual HRGs (units of healthcare) is sought from clinical Expert Working Groups (EWGs). This is to ensure that the published tariff supports clinical practice.</p><p>For the 2017/19 tariff (set for two years), the prices for BZ91 were increased following EWG feedback. However, for the 2019/20 tariff the EWG advised that increasing the prices was no longer appropriate. The EWG felt that there had been a significant change in clinical practice since the 2017/19 prices were set, with a shift to performing minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), which are significantly cheaper, rather than open/tube glaucoma procedures. Based on diagnosis and procedure codes entered into patient records, MIGS activity is assigned to the HRG BZ91. However, the current codes do not allow differentiation between MIGS and non-MIGS activity. This means that BZ91 covers procedures of different levels of resource use.</p><p>Reference costs are collected and published annually and the latest published data is for the financial year 2017-18.
