	question text	To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to findings of the rapid survey by the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services, published on 8 September 2021, what assessment he has made of the implications for his policies of the finding that the number of people who have been waiting more than six months for an assessment of their care needs has increased by 57 per cent over the last three months to 11,000 people.

	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/10/2021 answer text <p>Local authorities are responsible for assessing an individual’s eligibility for care and support as set out in the Care Act 2014 and where the individual is eligible for financial support, for meeting those needs.</p><p> </p><p>The forthcoming Health and Care Bill will set out the Department’s plans to develop an enhanced assurance framework to support improved social care outcomes, identify and share best practice and build on existing sector-led support and improvement programmes.
