There are currently 271 active locations registered as care homes in the county of Derbyshire. Of these, nine are rated outstanding, 200 are rated as good, 52 are rated as requires improvement and seven are rated as inadequate. Three services do not currently have a rating.

No assessment has been made of the proposals by Derbyshire County Council.

Under the Care Act 2014, local authorities have a temporary duty to ensure people’s needs for care and support continue to be met if a provider fails or exits the market due to business failure.
