star this property answer text <p>The United Kingdom supports European Council Recommendation 1999/519/EC on limiting exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs), which include radio waves. The Recommendation incorporates exposure restrictions from the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), as advised by Public Health England (PHE).</p><p>An overview of the radio wave exposure restrictions applied in a range of countries has been provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) at the following link:</p><p><a href="http://apps.who.int/gho/data/node.main.EMFLIMITSPUBLICRADIOFREQUENCY?lang=en" target="_blank">http://apps.who.int/gho/data/node.main.EMFLIMITSPUBLICRADIOFREQUENCY?lang=en</a></p><p>This shows that the majority of countries are following the ICNIRP guidelines (41 volts per meter at 900 MHz and 58 volts per meter at 1,800 MHz).</p><p>PHE is a collaborating body in WHO’s International EMF Project, which brings together organisations from around the world to share information on this topic. PHE is committed to keeping its advice under review and to updating its advice should new evidence dictate that is necessary.</p>

star this property answer text <p>The capital funding for England announced with the launch of the Health Infrastructure Plan (HIP) is £2.8 billion, with £2.7 billion for six new hospital projects that are getting the full go ahead now, and £100 million in seed funding to a further 21 schemes (34 hospitals) to develop their plans.</p><p>This announcement will mean the devolved administrations will receive indicative Barnett consequentials over eight years of around £270 million for the Scottish Government, £165 million for the Welsh Government, and £90 million for the Northern Ireland administration. Consequentials will be confirmed when Departmental budgets are set, and the Barnett formula will apply in the normal way.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>To prepare the National Health Service for winter, the Government is providing an additional £3 billion of funding. This includes funding to allow the NHS to maintain the Nightingale surge capacity and continue to use the extra hospital capacity available within the independent sector.</p><p>Effective local management of any outbreaks is the first line of protection against a second wave that might overwhelm the NHS. To support local authorities, we made £300 million available and they already have robust plans in place to respond to outbreaks.</p><p>We have also made significant strides in our Test and Trace service. We have established one of the world’s largest testing programmes, with capacity at around 350,000 tests every day and we have already traced around 250,000 people who may have unknowingly spread the virus.</p><p>NHS winter preparations include delivering a very significantly expanded seasonal flu vaccination programme for priority groups.</p><p><strong> </strong></p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>HM Treasury and the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) publish a joint dataset listing all active Private Finance Initiative (PFI) projects, including those held by the National Health Service. This data includes the dates when each PFI contract was signed and began operations, the length of the contract, and annual Unitary Charge payments.</p><p>Each NHS PFI contract includes building maintenance services as a minimum. Other services provided as part of the PFI contract vary depending on the requirements and circumstances of each NHS trust or foundation trust and are subject to change over time. NHS PFI contracts are held directly by individuals NHS trusts and foundation trusts, not the Department.</p><p>The latest HM Treasury/IPA data on PFI contracts was published in May 2019 and is available on the GOV.UK website at the following link:</p><p><a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/private-finance-initiative-and-private-finance-2-projects-2018-summary-data" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/private-finance-initiative-and-private-finance-2-projects-2018-summary-data</a></p>

star this property answer text <p>The Government published its response to the Independent Medicines and Medical Devices Safety review on 21 July 2021. The Government did not accept the recommendation to establish separate redress schemes for the three interventions in the report, including sodium valproate.</p><p>Our primary focus is on improving future medicines and medical devices safety and it is therefore crucial that we focus funding on initiatives which directly improve future safety This includes specialist mesh centres and support for families affected by medicines in pregnancy. For this reason, we have no plans to establish redress schemes in response to this recommendation.</p> more like this
