It includes capacity enhancement schemes as well as new roads.</p><p>In addition, the Department has funded a number of schemes over the past 10 years from targeted funding programmes. These programmes include the Local Pinch Point Fund and National Productivity Investment Fund and these include new roads and road improvements.</p><p>The Department does not hold information on schemes that may have been funded from Local Authorities’ own budgets (including those provided through formula funding allocations such as Integrated Transport Block funding). The Department has no plans to review this legislation since it continues to ensure that any new roads that are adopted and then maintained at public expense are built to the required standard.</p><p>The Department does provide advice to developers and highway authorities on the road adoption process. The 2017 Advice Note can be found at: <a href="http://www.gov.uk/government/publications/adoption-of-roads-by-highway-authorities" target="_blank">www.gov.uk/government/publications/adoption-of-roads-by-highway-authorities</a>. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/07/2022 answer text <p>We remain committed to making Accessible Information Regulations to require operators of local services in Great Britain to provide onboard audible and visible next stop and route and direction information to support disabled passengers.</p><p> </p><p>We intend to lay Accessible Information Regulations by the end of 2022 and to publish guidance for operators to support them to comply.</p><p> </p><p>These Regulations will apply across Great Britain, including in Derbyshire. Bus policy in Northern Ireland is generally a devolved matter.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, Derbyshire County Council has been allocated indicative funding of up to £47 million to deliver on their Bus Service Improvement Plan. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/07/2022 answer text <p>The Government’s approach to supporting the uptake of electric cars is clearly working – while the Government slowly reduced the grant over time, the sale of electric vehicles soared. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/07/2022 answer text <p>This Government has committed £2.5 billion since 2020 to support the transition to zero emission vehicles, with funding to offset their higher upfront cost, and to accelerate the rollout of chargepoint infrastructure.</p><p>Although Government has recently closed the plug-in car grant to new orders, Plug-in Grants will continue until at least financial year 2023/24 for taxis and motorcycles, and 2024/25 for vans, trucks and wheelchair accessible vehicles.</p><p>Plug-in Grants are just one way in which Government supports electric vehicle uptake. We have put in place favourable benefit in kind tax rates for zero emission vehicles out to 2025: company car tax was 1% in 2021/22 and 2% in 2022/23 through to 2024/25. Further, all zero emission cars are exempt from vehicle excise duty (VED) and zero emissions vans pay a nil rate of tax on the van benefit charge.</p><p>In addition, we announced in the Net Zero Strategy that we will introduce a zero-emission vehicle mandate, setting targets for a percentage of manufacturers' new car and van sales to be zero emission each year from 2024.</p><p>In March we published our ambitious electric vehicle infrastructure strategy, backed by £1.6 billion of funding, setting out our vision and commitments to make electric vehicle charging cheaper and more convenient than refueling at a petrol station, supporting drivers across the whole country to make the transition to a cleaner, greener vehicle.</p> answering member constituency Copeland answering member printed Trudy Harrison question first answered 11/07/2022 08:31:51 answering member 4593 label Biography information for Trudy Harrison

The Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy will be published in the summer and will include details of how the £300m committed in the last Spending Review will be invested to support cycling and walking.</p><p> </p><p>In addition to the dedicated cycling and walking programmes, there are a number of wider funding streams which are devolved to local bodies and which can and are being used to support cycling and walking projects. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/06/2019 answer text <p>Figures on public sector expenditure at a regional level are part of the Government’s Country and Regional Analysis (CRA) statistics.</p><p> </p><p>The statistics include spend on transport by all public sector organisations including the Department for Transport, Local Authorities, Public Corporations (in the case of transport, this is mainly spend by London Underground) and other Government Departments including devolved administrations.</p><p> </p><p>When comparing expenditure across regions a number of factors should be considered. For example, when expenditure is presented on a “per head of population” (or “per capita”) basis, it does not account for the pressure that large numbers of commuters and visitors from outside of a region can add to the transport networks. In addition, larger built-up areas (such as London) tend to make greater use of mass public transport systems, and these will generate fares income which contributes to their operating costs.</p><p> </p><p>Statistics for public sector capital expenditure by region of England are given in Table 1 below. Table 2 provides the equivalent statistics per capita. Large transport projects tend to require large sums of capital expenditure during construction, but deliver benefits for many years into the future.
