star this property answer text <p>The Government provides grants worth £15.6m per year to support rail and water freight services which deliver environmental and economic benefits over road transport, but whose operating costs are higher. This level is net of a significant efficiency saving implemented since 2015.</p><p> </p><p>Rail flows of intermodal freight continue to be healthy and the grants deliver high value for money. A research project is underway to inform decisions about future funding and operation of the grants and will consider stakeholder feedback.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department is actively looking at a future Southern Rail Link to Heathrow and this scheme will be considered alongside other national priorities through the planning process for the next control period.</p><p> </p><p>In May we launched a formal Market Sounding for a Southern Rail Link to Heathrow and results of this are expected to be published later this year. The outcome of this engagement will provide further clarity on whether to and, if so, how this scheme will be progressed and funded.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department for Transport is providing £6.2 billion to local highway authorities in England, outside London, from 2015 to 2021 to enable repairs to be made to all highway infrastructure assets maintainable at public expense. The funding includes a £296 million Pothole Action Fund. Highways England are also spending £400 million per annum for renewal of the road surfaces for which they are responsible.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government has committed investment of more than £6 billion to highways maintenance between 2015 and 2021. This funding includes an action fund to help combat potholes totalling £296 million between 2016 and 2021. The Department published its latest statistics on road conditions in England in January 2018, which showed that at that time local classified roads had been improving overall, with fewer local roads to be considered for maintenance. The Department recognises, however, that the severe frosts of 2018 are likely to have affected local road quality.</p> more like this

As she knows, we have just announced a local charging infrastructure fund of £400 million. A lot of work is being done with local authorities, and I encourage my hon. star this property answer text <p>The Government’s vision is to have one of the best infrastructure networks in the world for electric vehicles, and we want chargepoints to be accessible, affordable and secure. The Government’s grant schemes fund chargepoints at homes, workplaces and on residential streets. The £400m public-private Charging Infrastructure Investment Fund will add thousands more public chargepoints to the 17,000 already installed. The Automated and Electric Vehicles Act gives Government new powers to regulate the chargepoint market and improve the experience for consumers.</p> more like this
