However, the Trade and Cooperation Agreement suspends timescales for responding to Mutual Legal Assistance requests for vehicle registration data in respect of the enforcement of minor traffic offences until 1 January 2024. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/10/2022 answer text <p>Renewable Hydrogen has been eligible for reward under the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) since 2019. In July we published guidance which broadened that support by enabling hydrogen producers to claim certificates by using power purchase agreements (PPA) to show the use of qualifying electricity. This will help bring down the cost of hydrogen for all transport users including heavy good vehicles and buses.</p><p> </p><p>In Spring 2023 we will publish a post implementation review of the RTFO 2018 amendments, which was when hydrogen support was introduced. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/09/2022 answer text <p>The Office for National Statistics Annual Population Survey estimates that the number of HGV drivers in the twelve-month period ending March 2022 was 262,700, this is up from 253,200 in the twelve-month period ending December 2021. ONS have identified and are investigating an issue in the classification of some occupations in its statistics. While investigations are still ongoing, it is not anticipated that figures of HGV/LGV drivers will be significantly impacted.</p><p>In response the Government has taken decisive action to address the HGV driver shortage putting in place 33 short, medium and long-term interventions to date to help alleviate the existing HGV driver shortages. These interventions include investing up to £34 million to create skills bootcamps to train up to 11,000 more people to become HGV drivers. We are also supporting HGV driver training through apprenticeships, including the Large Goods Vehicle Driver and Urban Driver apprenticeships. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Jobcentre Plus are also supporting returning to driving and helping jobseekers become HGV drivers where appropriate.</p><p>The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency has expanded HGV driver testing capacity and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency has improved licencing processes in order to help get these new drivers on the road.</p><p>The Government continues to have positive engagement with the sector who report that the 33 measures are working.</p><p> </p><p> </p> answering member constituency South East Cambridgeshire answering member printed Lucy Frazer question first answered 28/09/2022 12:39:59 answering member 4517 label Biography information for Lucy Frazer

It sets out an ambitious path supporting the achievement of the legislative target for the UK to reach net zero emissions across the economy by 2050.</p><p> </p><p>As set out in the 2021 Transport Decarbonisation Plan, the department is taking a two-pronged approach to maritime decarbonisation: a comprehensive policy and regulatory programme; and R&amp;D funding and investment.</p><p> </p><p>Hydrogen and hydrogen carriers have been identified as an important part of the solution for the maritime sector. Our goal is to leverage the UK’s existing strengths in AI and the data-driven economy to ensure that the UK remains at the forefront of the data revolution.
