star this property answer text <p>Under the Global Human Rights Regulations, British businesses must comply with sanctions against the individuals and entities appearing on a regularly updated GOV.UK list. Businesses continue to be notified about sanctions and designated persons too.</p><p> </p><p>On 22<sup>nd</sup> March, HM Government took the significant step of imposing asset freezes and travel bans against four senior Chinese officials as well as the Public Security Bureau of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps responsible for the serious violations of rights and responsibilities that take place in Xinjiang.</p><p> </p><p>The United Kingdom will continue to work alongside its international partners to send the clearest possible signal of the international community’s serious concern and our collective willingness to act on this issue.</p> more like this

The support it provides is in the form of insurance or guarantees for loans from commercial lenders.</p><p> </p><p>UKEF considers all applications for support on their respective merits based on objective criteria. Any support given is provided on commercial terms, generating a return for the UK taxpayer.</p><p> </p><p>UKEF applies rigorous due diligence processes before providing support for any transaction.</p><p> </p><p>As is usual with such applications, there was no ministerial involvement in UKEF’s decision to support this transaction, which is driving growth and creating high-skilled green jobs in Northern Ireland.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK champions rules-based multilateral trade, and strongly supports the Director-General of the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) efforts to drive forward reform. WTO reform has been a central aspect of this year’s G7 Trade Track discussions, which are seeking to build momentum and common ground ahead of the 12<sup>th</sup> WTO Ministerial Conference. We are actively participating in discussions through bilateral, plurilateral and multilateral channels, including the G20 and Ottawa Group.</p><p>Examples of specific proposals include our co-sponsorship of a proposal at the WTO Council for Trade in Goods to enhance WTO monitoring and transparency requirements, co-sponsorship of the Ottawa Group’s Trade and Health proposal, and submission of textual proposals to the E-Commerce Joint Initiative negotiations.</p> more like this
