<p>At the Safeguarding Summit on 5 March, I announced that DFID will put in place new, enhanced and specific safeguarding standards within our due diligence process for all non-governmental organisations. This will include an assessment of codes of conduct, how organisations identify and respond to incidents, and how risk management places safeguarding and beneficiaries at its core. New funds to organisations will not be approved unless they pass the new standards.</p>
