	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/03/2020 answer text <p>In 2016 CDC made a $144 million equity investment into ARM Cement, a publicly listed cement business with operations in Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda. ARM Cement was an investment with high development impact potential. The aim was to support the growth of a regional manufacturer and by so doing reduce the cost and increase the availability of cement across the East African region, creating jobs and spurring infrastructure development.</p><p>Due to a number of factors, CDC’s investment in ARM was ultimately not successful and the CDC investment has been written off. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/09/2017 answer text <p>The Department supports marine conservation activities overseas through our funding to the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). For example FAO hosts the International Plan of Action to Prevent, Deter, and Eliminate Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing. The GEF has funded marine protected areas across the world that are more than twice the size of Alaska.</p><p>The UK’s core support to FAO in the past five years was a total of £92 million, comprising £42 million in 2012/13, £32 million in 2014/15 and £18 million in 2016/17. DFID’s contribution to the Global Environment Facility in the past five years was £262.5 million, comprising £52.5 million per year for each of the financial years from 2012 to 2016 inclusive. In 2019/20 DFID will provide £16 million in humanitarian assistance to Gaza, which will help support the health system, including improved trauma care, and contribute to emergency food aid for around 1.2 million vulnerable people.</p><p>To help address the underlying causes of the humanitarian situation we are investing to build the capacity of Gaza’s water and energy services and to address barriers to trade. We have not received any reports of an increase in the rate during this period but the situation remains of urgent concern. The Ministry of Health and NGOs have been providing some primary healthcare in the IDP camps, but there continue to be barriers to access, particularly to hospital level care for Rohingya, and this remains a key concern for us. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/11/2018 answer text <p>The UK has played a leading role in helping secure vital access for food, fuel, and medicine into and throughout Yemen. Last year when Red Sea port access was restricted after a Houthi ballistic missile attack on Riyadh’s civilian airport, UK diplomacy including a visit from the Secretary of State for Development to Riyadh led to the ports being fully reopened. As a part of this effort, the UK provides £1.3 million to the UN Verification and Inspection Mechanism to give the Coalition confidence that weapons are not coming in to Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen on commercial ships. Red Sea ports remain fully operational and continue to import most of the food and fuel on which Yemenis rely.</p><p> </p><p>As we have consistently made clear, the Houthis must facilitate access throughout areas they control which is where most of the population live. As penholder on Yemen in the UN Security Council, the UK continues to call on all parties to comply with the UNSC Presidential Statements of June 2017 and March 2018, which insist that all parties facilitate safe, rapid, and unhindered access for both the humanitarian response and commercial supplies.</p><p> </p><p>On 3 April, the UK announced an additional £170 million in response to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen for this financial year (2018/2019).
