The UK recently pledged up to £1 billion to Gavi for 2016 to 2020. The full UK contribution to Gavi will save a child’s life every two minutes. This funding will be disbursed in tranches on an annual basis. The full UK funding will be released so long as the total amount committed by donors meets Gavi’s replenishment target of $7.5 billion. We are having discussions at both Ministerial and official level with the Overseas Territories to emphasise the importance of this agenda. One community lost 0.1% of its habitat, one community’s habitat remained untouched and the final community lost 90% of its habitat. Mitigation measures were implemented to reduce the effects of the losses on this last community.
