Where taxpayers’ money is misused, we expect our partners to take firm and immediate action and that partners with which we work protect the UK aid funds for which they are responsible, whilst acting with honesty and with integrity at all times. Any allegations of fraud and or corruption are subject to robust investigation.</p><p> </p><p>In January 2018, allegations of fraud and corruption arose in the Uganda Refugee Operation. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/02/2019 answer text <p>Yemen remains the world’s largest humanitarian crisis with nearly 80 per cent of the entire population – 24 million people – requiring some form of humanitarian assistance and protection. The number of food insecure people has also risen from 17 million to over 20 million and for the first time, there are people (almost 240,000) in the most severe food security category, IPC 5 - at high risk of death.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The UK is providing £170 million in response to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen this financial year, including food for the equivalent of 4 million Yemenis for one month. Our funding over the next three years will screen 2.2 million children under the age of five for malnutrition and provide urgent treatment for 70,000 of the most vulnerable children. HMG regularly raises freedom of religious belief issues at the highest levels with Pakistan government counterparts. We would also like to see all parties ease movement and access restrictions. This would make it easier for Gazans to sell their goods to Israel and other countries in the region; and for small businesses to grow and create jobs. DFID's new economic development programme will support all these activities.</p><p> </p><p>However, we are clear that a durable agreement is needed to address the underlying causes of the conflict and to transform the situation in Gaza. This is why the UK continues to support progress towards a two-state solution that permanently ends the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. For example, our UN core funding is linked directly to agencies’ own results frameworks and annual reporting cycles. In addition, where DFID co-funds UN programmes with other donors, where possible, joint reporting arrangements are put in place.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>However, large, complex projects in high risk contexts expecting to deliver big results may require additional reporting. As set out in our management response to the ICAI review of the UK’s approach to funding the UN humanitarian system, we will soon launch a new programme delivery learning package for staff to support greater understanding and consistency of reporting requirements across DFID’s country network. The recommendations will feed into DFID’s strategic planning.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The report is right that we revised our estimate down as our information changed. Models continually incorporate better data as it becomes available. The maternal lives saved figure reduced when better data from Bangladesh and Ethiopia became available. We used an internationally respected modelling tool – the Lives Saved Tool. We were forced to make some assumptions, however, and therefore used the tool conservatively, excluding some results from large programmes where we could not be sure of accuracy.
