We will continue to pay to the wounded and the prisoners. Even if we have one plaster left, it will be for them, and not for the living.

Our sustained support to the Palestinian Authority (PA) is underpinned by a Memorandum of Understanding which requires the PA to commit to the principle of non-violence and to tackle language and avoid actions that could incite violence or hatred. The UK continues to urge the Palestinian leadership to uphold this principle. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/12/2018 answer text <p>Official Development Assistance (ODA) is defined by the OECD Development Assistance Committee as resource flows to developing countries and multilateral organisations, which are provided by official agencies, for example the UK Government or its executive agencies.</p><p> </p><p>Under the definition, a total of £1,567 million of UK ODA was provided in loans in 2017. Of the total, DFID provided £21 million in bilateral loans to developing countries and £820 million for a multilateral loan to the World Bank in 2017. A non-DFID multilateral loan of £726 million was also provided to the International Monetary Fund in 2017. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/12/2018 answer text <p>The UK government is deeply concerned about the findings of the IMPACT-se report into the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) new curriculum and it remains a priority for the Development for International Development (DFID) to commission an independent review of the PA’s textbooks. We are also continuing to raise our concerns about incitement, which the Minister did himself at a meeting with the Palestinian Education Minister earlier this year. Last week, on 4<sup>th</sup> December, DFID officials met the PA Minister for Education and raised UK concerns over specific examples in the IMPACT-SE report.</p><p> </p><p>Our timeline for the textbook review remains unchanged. We will complete the review by September 2019. The UK has been convening discussions with potential international partners on commissioning the review together, in order to increase the impact of the study. We will commission the review in the new year once we have concluded these discussions. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/01/2019 answer text <p>As Mark Lowcock, the UN Under Secretary General, explained to the UN Security Council on 23 October, Yemen’s recent economic crisis threatens to tip the country into famine, with the Yemeni Riyal losing over 40% of its value from June to October 2018.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The UK led discussions with the US, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates so the Central Bank of Yemen could release $270 million, provided by Saudi Arabia, in letters of credit to support commercial food importers with foreign currency to purchase wheat and other staples for import. These measures have resulted in an appreciation of the Riyal, and prices of staples are starting to decline which means that ordinary Yemenis are more able to buy food that is in the markets.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>However, much more remains to be done. We welcome the positive outcomes of consultations in Stockholm and continue to encourage further constructive and urgent engagement on the economy. This includes the Yemeni Social Fund for Development, a national development institution established in 1997 to improve basic services, enhance economic opportunities, and reduce the vulnerability of the poor.</p><p> </p><p>Between 2010 and 2018, DFID contributed £108 million to the Yemen Social Fund for Development to provide hundreds of thousands of Yemenis with work opportunities restoring roads, health clinics, and agricultural land, as well as providing training, infrastructure improvements, and clean water to thousands more. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/01/2019 answer text <p>The UK is playing a leading role in combating hunger in Yemen through our £170 million in aid this financial year.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We channel UK funds through UN agencies and international NGOs with a strong record of delivering and monitoring assistance. These organisations do everything they can under the most difficult circumstances to negotiate access including in areas of active conflict so that aid does get to those who need it most.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Through the World Food Programme this year the UK is providing cash and vouchers to feed the equivalent of 4 million people for a month.
