star this property answer text <p>We continue to work closely with ministers and officials from all departments, including the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, to further our preparations for exit from and new partnership with the EU. The Secretary of State continues to have regular conversations with Cabinet colleagues on all aspects of exiting the EU, including on agriculture policy.</p><p> </p><p>All ministers are clear that leaving the EU means leaving the Common Agricultural Policy, and making our own decisions for our own farmers’ benefit for the first time in around half a century.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>During the implementation period, the UK will remain a signatory of the EU Treaties and the rights and obligations contained in them, including with respect to the movement of agricultural workers. Our domestic implementation of EU law remains in place.</p><p>On Thursday 6th September, the Home Office and Defra announced a nationwide pilot scheme to bring migrant workers to UK farms. More information is available at Gov.uk. We will continue to engage with stakeholders, including the National Farmers' Union, during this pilot and as we seek reciprocal mobility arrangements with the EU.</p> more like this

This has included discussion of alternative arrangements to the backstop, following Parliament’s indication of support for such a position.</p><p>The Civil Service supports the Government in developing and implementing its policies. In this context, it is proper for civil servants to support Ministers in conducting these meetings. No support has been extended to backbench MPs, or other individuals or groups outwith Government.</p><p> </p> more like this
