star this property answer text The Withdrawal Agreement brings about the end of the jurisdiction of the Court of Justice of the EU in Britain. <p /><p>The EU (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill makes clear that it is a matter for UK courts to determine UK law, and provides for legal clarity after the implementation period. It also provides for how UK courts must interpret relevant separation agreement law under our international obligations.</p><p><br>Companies will be subject to the court systems of the jurisdictions in which they operate, as normal.</p> more like this

That is a view we share.</p><p>Safeguarding citizens’ rights is our first priority for negotiations. The draft Withdrawal Agreement will provide certainty about the rights of UK nationals in the EU and EU citizens in the UK going forward. We are confident that a future partnership between the UK and EU is in the interests of both sides, so we approach these negotiations anticipating success. We do not want or expect a no deal outcome.</p><p> </p><p>However, a responsible government should prepare for all potential outcomes, including the unlikely scenario in which no mutually satisfactory agreement can be reached. That is exactly what we are doing across the whole of Government.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Secretary of State for the Department for Exiting the European Union continues to be responsible for conducting negotiations in support of the Prime Minister and leading policy work to ensure a smooth exit from the EU.
