The Government is committed to positive and productive engagement with key business stakeholders, academic institutions and local government in the North East, as well as all of the UK, to understand the potential impact and opportunities presented by EU Exit. star this property answer text <p>We want the broadest and deepest possible partnership – covering more sectors and co-operating more fully than any Free Trade Agreement anywhere in the world today.</p><p> </p><p>The Government is undertaking a wide range of continuing analysis and preparatory work, across a range of scenarios, looking at the implications of UK withdrawal from the EU. We have been clear the Government will not provide a running commentary on internal analytical work that is being carried out within Government.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has confirmed that when we bring forward the vote on the final deal, we will ensure that Parliament is presented with the appropriate analysis to make an informed decision. Given that we are yet to conclude this negotiation, it would not be practical or appropriate to set out the details of exactly how the Government will analyse the final deal.</p> more like this

The Prime Minister reiterated in her Mansion House speech that the UK is committed to establishing a far-reaching science and innovation pact with the EU, facilitating the exchange of ideas and researchers.</p><p> </p><p>On Monday 19 March the UK and EU negotiating teams reached another important milestone in the exit process by agreeing the terms of a time-limited implementation period. As part of the next phase of the negotiations, we look forward to working with the EU on designing this science and innovation pact, and we would welcome a full and open discussion about all of the options for continued collaboration.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We have always engaged constructively and as a full and responsible Member State, in order to secure a deal that works for all parts of the country.</p><p> </p><p>To that end, the SoS has been in contact with Michel Barnier, on a number of occasions since December last year. The SoS met him on February 5th in London, had a call on 2nd March, and most notably, they had a joint press conference in March following the agreement reached on the implementation period.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Throughout this period officials have been negotiating hard and at pace on issues related to our withdrawal, including Northern Ireland and other separation issues. More recently, they have begun discussions on the future framework, with discussions covering elements of both the future security and future economic partnerships.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>We will of course continue to keep Parliament informed as negotiations unfold, in the coming months.</p><p> </p> more like this
