We have reduced emissions to the atmosphere (including toxic metals) significantly over the last 20 years through a range of measures including implementation of European Legislation. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/06/2014 answer text <p> </p><p>In March this year, Defra sent letters to all local authorities in England to inform them of the Commission's decision to commence infraction procedures against the UK for non-compliance with NO<sub>2</sub> limit values, what it means and the next steps that should be taken by the Government in response.
