star this property answer text <p>Following the Prime Minister's summit on serious violence in April this year, government has been working with the Premier League, Sport England, National Governing Bodies and other organisations in the sport and physical activity sector to explore what more can be done to use sport and physical activity to tackle serious violence, including knife crime.</p><p> </p><p>Using Sport England insight and Home Office hot spot data, action will be targeted at the areas that need it most. star this property answer text <p>DCMS, in partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund, is providing over £2m to OnSide Youth Zones through the Youth Investment Fund (2017-2020). This is supporting the expansion and creation of open access youth services in the Wirral, Wolverhampton and Barking and Dagenham.</p><p> </p><p>Local programmes funded by DCMS and delivered through delivery partners are also delivered in OnSide Youth Zones. For example a money management programme through the Savers Support Fund, programmes through the Sport for Development fund and National Citizen Service local delivery.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The French Government is still formulating their approach to these issues, including the basis on which any African cultural artefacts might be returned to countries of origin.</p><p> </p><p>Decisions about items in collections are a matter for UK museums themselves - and in the case of national museums, statutory duty lies with the board of trustees who operate independently from government.</p><p> </p><p>The UK is a world leader in culture and heritage and our museums co-operate extensively with countries around the world on the circulation, promotion and protection of their collections, including capacity building programmes supporting museums development and cultural heritage protection.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The £62 million is part of the £675million Future High Streets Fund. £55 million of the Future High Street Fund was allocated to DCMS for the Heritage High Streets Programme. A further £7 million has been contributed taking the total investment to £62million. An additional £4million has been invested by Historic England to support the High Street Heritage Action Zone scheme along with £3 million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to support a cultural programme as part of the scheme to engage people in the life and history of their high streets.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The purpose of the Heritage High Street funding programmes is to help high streets adapt to the challenges they face. To do that, both will be working closely with the communities that those high streets serve so as to better understand the particular needs of each place to ensure interventions are designed to support those needs.</p><p> </p><p>The Historic England led High Street Heritage Action Zone programme will be working closely with local partners in the development of each scheme. This emphasis on local need is reflected in the programme’s Critical Success Factors, which include orking with local businesses and communities, to ensure that local needs, knowledge, insight and narratives drive the local investment programme.</p><p> </p><p>The Architectural Heritage Fund’s Transforming Places through Heritage scheme will support social enterprise organisations to take ownership of and bring buildings of local importance - such as pubs - back into use and secure their place as community assets.</p>
