Government has issued thorough guidance to support Covid-secure training and competition. Governing bodies have established their own sport specific protocols, including appropriate mitigations and testing regimes. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/03/2021 answer text <p>Sports and physical activity are incredibly important for our physical and mental health, and are a vital weapon against coronavirus.</p><p> </p><p>As a result of COVID-19, Sport England have made 7,923 awards to sports clubs in England totalling £43,547,727 and 64 awards to sports clubs in Bolton totalling £207,794.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Government has provided unprecedented support to businesses through tax reliefs, cash grants and employee wage support, which many sport clubs have benefited from. The £300m Sports Winter Survival Package also aims to protect the immediate futures of major spectator sports in England over the winter period. On 22 October 2020, the Government also announced a £100m support fund for local authority leisure centres.</p><p> </p><p>Sport England has also provided £220million directly to support community sport clubs and exercise centres through this pandemic, via a range of funds including their £35million Community Emergency Fund. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/11/2020 answer text <p>Sport and physical activity are incredibly important for our physical and mental health, and are a vital weapon against coronavirus.</p><p>Nobody wanted to be in the position of having to introduce further national restrictions. However as the Prime Minister said, with the virus spreading faster than expected we cannot allow our health system to be overwhelmed. Therefore, from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December indoor and outdoor leisure will need to close. The national restrictions are designed to get the R rate under control through limiting social contact and reducing transmissions.</p><p>In order for these measures to have the greatest impact, we will all need to sacrifice doing some things that we would otherwise like to do, for a short period of time. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/12/2020 answer text <p>The Government has been working closely with sport governing bodies and clubs across the country to fully assess what support is needed, as a result of the restrictions many sports have faced around the return of fans.</p><p>As a result of this work, on 19 November 2020 we announced a £300 million Sports Winter Survival Package to protect their immediate futures over the winter period.</p><p>These interventions were on top of the multi-billion pound package of business support from the Treasury that has enabled many sports clubs and leisure businesses to survive, including the furlough scheme and business interruption loan scheme. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/06/2020 answer text <p>Sports and physical activity facilities play a crucial role in supporting adults and children to be active.The Government has made it clear that it will adopt a phased approach based on scientific and medical advice, and that the primary goal is to protect public health.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The government is in regular contact with representatives of sports, including cricket, swimming and tennis, to discuss both the impact of Covid-19 on sports and to explore how and when grassroots sport can safely resume once lockdown restrictions start to ease. Therefore, from Thursday 5 November until Wednesday 2 December there will be new national measures to reduce the infection rate of coronavirus. However, sports and physical activity are incredibly important for our physical and mental health, and are a vital weapon against coronavirus. Exercise and recreation outdoors will be allowed with your household or on your own with one person from another household.</p><p>DCMS and Sport England are working with National Governing Bodies to allow the safe return of close contact sports. However, sports which involve close contact with another person cannot currently take place.
