star this property answer text <p>All pensioners receive £100 to £300 Winter Fuel Payments and around 1.3 million low income pensioners receive the Warm Home Discount - a £140 rebate off their bills each winter.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, the recent cold weather triggered payments of £25 for qualifying households.</p><p> </p><p>I will be shortly consulting on how to best focus the £640mm of ECO funding onto low income households - which is intended to include elderly people living in fuel poverty.</p><p> </p><p>The Price Cap Bill will protect 11m households with 5m households already protected by the Ofgem safeguard tariff.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We are bringing forward the Price Cap Bill, an intelligent intervention to protect consumers.</p><p> </p><p>Ofgem is already capping tariffs for 1 million households this year, and consulting on protection for another 2 million next winter. This is in addition to the 4 million households protected under the pre-pay cap.</p><p> </p><p>That is not all, smart meter rollout, focusing of ECO money on fuel poor households and working with Citizens Advice and the Energy Saving Trust to get people switched to better deals.</p><p> </p><p>All this will help keep bills down for households.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>This Government made a clear Manifesto commitment to tackle fuel poverty by committing to upgrading all fuel poor homes to EPC Band C by 2030.</p><p> </p><p>We are making progress in particular by tackling the most energy inefficient homes. Since 2010 there are almost 800,000 fewer fuel poor households living in homes rated E, F or G.</p><p> </p><p>The average fuel poverty gap has also dropped 6 per cent in real terms since 2010 and last year I refocused the whole of the £630m ECO annual budget on tackling fuel poverty without the help of her party I might add who voted against the measures.</p> more like this
