These services are contracted by Government from the Telecommunication market in accordance with both Ofcom regulation and the Data Protection act. As such third party telecommunications providers are an integral part of the Government supply chain, and Government is taking no steps to remove third party Telecommunications providers from ensuring that citizens can communicate with Government easily.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Chair of the Inquiry, Sir Brian Langstaff is determined to put people at the heart of the Inquiry. He has said, “every person who is infected or affected has an account that will add to the Inquiry’s store of knowledge”. The Inquiry has invited people affected by the infected blood tragedy to contact them if they would like to provide evidence. Details of how to do so, and how to apply for core participant status, are available on the Inquiry’s website (<a href="http://www.infectedbloodinquiry.org.uk" target="_blank">www.infectedbloodinquiry.org.uk</a>).</p><p> </p><p>The Ministerial notice of determination to the Chair, published on the Inquiry’s website, sets out that those infected from blood or blood products and their families are provided funding for legal representation by Government, and regardless of means. However, it is not responsible for government policy in this area and actual call charges depend on individual communication providers.</p><p>GDS update the page regularly to ensure the information presented to users is accurate and reflects the current information published by the communications regulator in the UK, Ofcom.</p><p>The changes on 7 February 2017 were made by GDS following the updated information published by Ofcom in January 2017.</p> more like this
