The Cabinet Office has responsibility for the fund. At the General Election there were 400,000 more entries on the register than before, and thanks to Individual Electoral Registration (IER), 96 out of every 100 entries have been confirmed as genuine.</p><p>We’re now focusing on the remaining 4 out of 100. By December, Electoral Registration Officers will have attempted to contact each of them nine times over 18 months. Oldham Council is part of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority Partnership on the One Public Estate Programme. The programme, delivered by Cabinet Office and the Local Government Association, aims to maximise local economic growth from better use of public assets. 108 councils have recently joined a third phase of the programme.
