star this property answer text <p>The Surrey Senior Coroner has already carried out a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding Zane Gbangbola’s death, taking into account a considerable amount of evidence. The Coroner, as an independent judicial office holder, drew his own conclusions based on this evidence.</p><p><br> If there is a belief that the evidence was not considered properly during the original inquest, or that there is new evidence available, the correct process is for an application to be made to the Attorney General asking her to apply to the High Court to quash the inquest and order a fresh investigation. The High Court would take this course of action if it believed that it would be in the interests of justice.</p><p><br> If the Hon Member or the victim’s family would like to make such an application to the Attorney General, they are welcome to contact the Attorney General’s Office at correspondence@attorneygeneral.gov.uk for information and guidance on how to apply.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is not currently considering charges against anyone in relation to the tragic death of PC Yvonne Fletcher.</p><p> </p><p>In any case referred to the CPS by the police, a decision to prosecute is made in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors, and a case must meet the evidential and public interest stages of the Code Test.</p><p> </p><p>In accordance with the Code, the CPS will consider any new information that is referred to them by the police in relation to this case, and will continue to bring offenders to justice wherever possible.</p> more like this

This is included in the Code for Crown Prosecutors and relevant legal guidance, and is included in training for specialist youth prosecutors.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Attorney General’s Office has made an estimated saving of £164 in respect of stationery costs since June 2014. There may also have been some savings in staff time but it is not possible to quantify this without incurring a disproportionate cost. There have been no other identified savings.</p><p> </p><p>There have also not been any modifications made to existing ICT systems that were dependent on introduction of the Q&amp;A system.</p><p> </p><p>One of the benefits of the new system is the possibility for the reporting of the timeliness of answers to Parliamentary Questions to be delivered with greater consistency and accuracy across all answering bodies.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>It will be for the Procedure Committee to evaluate the effectiveness of the new system in improving performance when it assesses the evidence following the end of the session.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has not yet been approached for investigative advice, by any police force, in respect of possible criminal matters arising from the Financial Conduct Authority investigation of Wonga.</p><p>Following the announcement that Wonga would pay £2.6 million in compensation, after sending letters from non-existent law firms to customers in arrears, the CPS Deputy Head of the Specialist Fraud Division contacted the City of London Police, on the 26 June 2014, to enquire whether this matter was being criminally investigated.</p><p>City of London Police are the national police lead for serious fraud investigations. They are currently assessing whether the case merits a criminal investigation and have confirmed that they will refer any request for advice to the CPS Specialist Fraud Division.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has no records of any discussion with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in regard to this matter.</p><p>Press statements have been issued by both the FCA and the City of London Police concerning Wonga and their agreement to pay compensation.</p><p>If the SFO is approached by any law enforcement or regulatory bodies then any relevant matters will be considered for criminal investigation in line with the SFO's remit to investigate fraud, bribery and corruption.</p><p> </p> more like this
