answer text <p>The Department is aware of concerns that have been expressed about the standard of food served to members of the Armed Forces.</p><p>The Department has in place a number of safeguards to ensure a good quality of food. These include; contract monitoring, site visits, reviews, customer engagement and assurance by Single Service catering subject matter experts to improve on the service provided.</p><p>Any complaint over food can be raised through the chain of command or directly with the contractor by way of a complaints book.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Physiotherapists are now recruited into the Armed Forces as commissioned officers. As a result Defence has enjoyed healthy recruiting of physiotherapists and, consequently, sponsorship of individuals through training is not currently considered necessary. Defence has benefited from applicants gaining clinical experience in the NHS prior to joining the military.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Following representations on this issue and an investigation by The Office of Fair Trading (now the Competition and Markets Authority) in 2013, my Department passed this issue to the Law Commission to investigate in 2014. Their remit was to consider the problems caused by exit fees, consider whether greater protections were needed, and to make recommendations to Government. The Law Commissioners issued a consultation, which is due to close on 29 January; I would urge all interested parties to respond to this.</p><p>Once the Law Commission has completed its work the Government will consider any recommendations and respond as appropriate.</p> more like this
