answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/01/2024 answer text <p>The UK has made an ambitious and generous commitment to help at-risk people in Afghanistan and, so far, we have brought around 24,600 people to safety, including thousands of people eligible for our Afghan schemes. We continue to honour our commitments to bring eligible Afghans to the UK.</p><p>As of 31 August 2023, we successfully ended the use of bridging hotels for legally resettled Afghans, with the overwhelming majority of those being resettled now having moved into settled accommodation. We have now provided these Afghans with the homes they need to begin the next chapter of their life in the UK, fully integrate, find employment and provide their children with stability.</p><p>Whilst we cannot confirm the longest length of stay in bridging accommodation, our statistics show that the earliest record of an Afghan in bridging accommodation was in the second quarter of 2021.</p><p>The Home Office publish data on Afghan resettlement in the Immigration System Statistics release. In table Asy_D02 of the asylum and resettlement detailed datasets, you can view the number of Afghans resettled, by when they arrived in the UK (quarterly breakdowns) and what type of accommodation they were recorded in as of the date of the data extraction (currently the data is as of 30 September 2023). We are keeping implementation of the ban under review with police forces and key stakeholders.</p><p>The government is aware of early successes from law enforcement partners, including the first conviction under the new law this month. The Right Care, Right Person (RCRP) approach is designed to end inappropriate police involvement in cases where people have health and/or social care needs, and to ensure that people receive support from the right person, with the right skills, training, and experience to best meet their needs.</p><p>The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and the Home Office are monitoring the impact of the National Partnership Agreement (NPA) on mental health and policing. All integrated care boards and local authorities, together with their partners in the police and voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, have been asked to provide updates about their progress in producing plans for implementing the RCRP approach and any resource requirements to achieve this.</p><p>DHSC and the Home Office are encouraging local areas to monitor the rollout of RCRP, to understand the impact on patients and the NHS and to mitigate against risks. Implementation of the Public Order Act measures is staggered.</p><p>The Government respects the will of Parliament and is working to commence Safe Access Zones as soon as is practicably possible. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/04/2023 answer text <p>The latest <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/immigration-system-statistics-year-ending-december-2022" target="_blank">Immigration System Statistics, year ending December 2022</a>, published on 23 February, show that since their first arrivals in 2021, the ACRS and the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) have resettled a total of 21,387 people. These statistics also show that we have now relocated 11,212 individuals under ARAP scheme since it began in 2021.</p><p> </p><p>The Ministry of Defence (MOD) will first consider any applications under the ARAP. They will then refer eligible individuals to the Home Office for permission to enter the UK. This will be subject to the enrolment of biometrics and security checks.</p><p> </p><p>The Home Office continues to work at pace to assess incoming ARAP visa applications against the Immigration Rules.</p><p> </p><p>We will continue to honour our commitment to those who remain in Afghanistan and the region. Our priority is to ensure that future UK arrivals can go directly into appropriate accommodation rather than costly temporary hotel accommodation. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/04/2023 answer text <p>The UK has made one of the largest commitments of any country to support those impacted by events in Afghanistan.</p><p> </p><p>The latest <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/immigration-system-statistics-year-ending-december-2022" target="_blank">Immigration System Statistics, year ending December 2022</a>, published on 23 February, show that since their first arrivals in 2021, the ACRS and the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) have resettled a total of 21,387 people. These statistics also show that we have now resettled more than 7,600 vulnerable Afghan nationals through the first phase of the ACRS.</p><p> </p><p>The Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS) will see up to 20,000 people from Afghanistan and the region resettled to the UK over the coming years.</p><p> </p><p>Under the second pathway, which opened in 2022, we have now begun to receive the first referrals from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) of vulnerable refugees who have fled Afghanistan for resettlement to the UK. We are pleased to have welcomed the first 22 people to the UK under Pathway 2.</p><p> </p><p>Under Pathway 3 we have welcomed the first arrivals to the UK and look forward welcoming all remaining individuals under this Pathway as soon as is practically possible. There are currently no published statistics on Pathway 3 as arrivals under this pathway began after the start of the new reporting period. The next publication of statistics is due on 25 May 2023.</p><p> </p><p>We will continue to honour our commitment to those who remain in Afghanistan and the region. Our priority is to ensure that future UK arrivals can go directly into appropriate accommodation rather than costly temporary hotel accommodation.
