answer text
Every year, HMRC measures the impact of its activity to tackle tax avoidance, evasion and non-compliance through its performance measure of compliance yield. Compliance yield is HMRC’s term for money that would have been lost to the Exchequer if not for our compliance work. answer text
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) estimates the size of the tax gap, which is the difference between the amount of tax that should theoretically be paid to HMRC and the amount that is actually paid. The latest tax gap estimate for 2021-2022 is a record low of 4.8 per cent of total theoretical tax liabilities. The tax gap statistics are published annually and are available at: https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/measuring-tax-gaps.
more like this

answer text This government has taken significant action, including introducing 100 new measures tackling tax avoidance, evasion and other forms of non-compliance, since 2010, securing and protecting £200bn that would have otherwise gone unpaid and helping to bring the UK’s tax gap to a near record low of 5.6%. more like this
