This strategy also looked at the impact of the Fintech sector on the UK economy.</p><p> </p><p>As part of the Fintech Sector Strategy, the Government established a Cryptoassets Taskforce, consisting of HM Treasury, the Bank of England, and the Financial Conduct Authority. This Taskforce is exploring the impact of cryptoassets, the potential benefits and challenges of the application of distributed ledger technology in financial services, and assessing what, if any, regulation is required in response. The government welcomes and will take into consideration the views of the digital currency industry.
