answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/07/2019 answer text <p>Pursuant to my response of 27 June, the appointment of the Northern Ireland Office’s Director General was a routine civil service appointment approved by the Civil Service Senior Leadership Committee and Cabinet Secretary. We are establishing the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund – backed by up to £315m of investment – to help businesses with high energy use (including steel companies) to cut their bills and transition UK industry to a low carbon future. The regulation of activities in Lough Foyle is the responsibility of the Loughs Agency, a cross-border body established under the Belfast Agreement of 1998.</p><p> </p><p>We remain fully committed to these arrangements and continue to work closely with the Irish Government over improvements to the management of the Loughs. This has included the Northern Ireland (Executive Formation and Exercise of Functions) Act 2018 that provides the Northern Ireland Civil Service the certainty and clarity they need to continue to deliver public services in the absence of Ministers.
