However, the consultation process did not collect personal data that would identify a respondent as a person with a disability. The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland spoke with the Chief Operating Officer at Bombardier, Michael Ryan, on Friday 12 June 2020 to discuss the impact of the restructuring that was announced at the company last week. Prior to this, the Secretary of State spoke with Bombardier’s Director, Nick Laird on 16 April 2020 to discuss future projects for the aerospace sector. NIO officials and those at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) have engaged with the company on a number of occasions.</p><p> </p><p>Whilst we have not engaged with the trade union representatives at Bombardier, I am aware that there has been engagement with the Northern Ireland Executive, who are responsible for business support in Northern Ireland.</p><p> </p><p>The UK Government wants to see Northern Ireland not only recover but also prosper. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/06/2020 answer text <p>The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland spoke with the Chief Operating Officer at Bombardier last week, where he discussed the current position of the company and the particular impact of COVID-19 on the aerospace sector, which, in this case, has resulted in the company making a commercial decision to restructure their workforce.</p><p> </p><p>I was saddened to hear of the job losses which have been announced. I understand the company will continue to work with the trade unions to explore opportunities to mitigate the number of redundancies, including potential retraining and redeployment of members of the core workforce.</p><p> </p><p>The UK Government has set out a package of measures to protect businesses and employees through this period of disruption caused by COVID-19, including to the aerospace sector. This support, together with Government-backed finance, provides businesses with the best possible chance to weather the current crisis. Working with staff we have developed a Carers Charter, which sets out the policies and support available and the department has dedicated advocates for Carers, through our Diversity and Inclusion network. All staff members with caring responsibilities are encouraged to complete an NIO Carer’s Passport.</p><p> </p><p>To strengthen our commitment to supporting staff with caring responsibilities, the NIO is a member of Employers for Carers Northern Ireland. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/06/2020 answer text <p>In accordance with the duty placed on the Government under section 9 of the Northern Ireland (Executive Formation etc.) Act 2019, regulations are now in place to make provision for accessing abortions in Northern Ireland.</p><p> </p><p>The Northern Ireland Assembly has not opposed the Abortion (Northern Ireland) (No. 2) Regulations 2020.</p><p> </p><p>The debate in the Assembly on 2 June 2020 was focused on one aspect of those regulations, severe fetal impairment, and does not have any binding effects on the Regulations we have made.</p><p> </p><p>The Abortion (Northern Ireland) (No. 2) Regulations 2020 have now been debated in both Houses of Parliament as required under the ‘made affirmative’ procedure and approved by the House of the Lords. The House of Commons will today vote on the Regulations to approve them to remain in force as the law on access to abortion in Northern Ireland.</p><p> </p><p>As abortion remains a devolved issue in Northern Ireland, the Assembly remains able to legislate on abortion, subject to the usual Assembly and other procedures, including compliance with the European Convention on Human Rights.
