answer text <p>Last year Crown Court trial waiting times were at their lowest since 2014, with this year’s allocation of sitting days reflecting this.</p><p> </p><p>We estimate that we need around 82,300 sitting days in the Crown Court in England and Wales in the financial year 2019/20 and have the judges needed to deliver this level of sitting.</p><p> </p><p>This estimate is based on how much resource is required to deal with the number of cases expected to be received in 2019/20 and reflects falling demand in the Crown Court. We will continue to review demand and performance in the Crown Court and will ensure it has the resources it requires.</p> more like this
